I just got the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette from Sephora the other day and oh boy how I have been longing for this palette. Ive been eyeing it since it came out and now I finally decided to get it. It retails at $54 just like all the other Naked palettes so its kind of pricey, but definitely worth it as I love these eyeshadows. The palette also include a double ended brush with one smudge brush and one crease brush which is great for any to go occasion.
Naked Smoky Design
Now the design of the palette is what I absolutely adore the most. I mean you just want to look at it! The other palettes designs are way simpler that this one, which have a smoke design and a much more deeper font style which kind of pops out. Everything from the packaging to the design is just absolutely gorgeous. Just like the Urban Decay Naked2 and Naked3 palette, the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette have a mirror on the full area of the inside of the lid.
Naked Smoky Shades
The palette contains of 12 different eyeshadow shades. 9 of them are completely new, never before seen shades, and 3 of them are exclusives. Now the thing about the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette is that it do not only have the smokey darker shades, but you also have some of the neutral lighter shades, as well as some more shimmery shades too. For me, this is absolutely the go to palette for any trip or night out. It has what you may need for your eyes and the colors are gorgeous!
Now I used the Smoky Smudger end of the included brush to show you guys the colors on my skin. The colors are in following order: High, Dirtysweet, Radar, Armor, Slanted, Dagger, Black Market, Smolder, Password, Whiskey, Combust and Thirteen. Now I did notice some pigment differences. the darker shades seemed to be more of a build up eyeshadow, which is great since you should be slow and careful when using darker shades. While the lighter ones got really strong pigments. For me this is absolutely not anything negative as I like to build up any darker colors that I do use just so that it won’t be too much at once.
Overall, Im super excited about the palette and Im sure that I will have a lot of fun experimenting with all the different shades. What I did forget to mention is that a little look book with 4 different smokey eyes and directions are included. This allows you to try out different types of smokey eyes and find out which one suits you the best. Now I got mine at Sephora because that is like my go to beauty store, but it is also available at ULTA, Macys, and Nordstrom but it retails for $54 at all these stores.
