Staying in Portland – The Society Hotel

When I visited Portland with my roommate Arielle we decided to book a room at The Society Hotel in Downtown Portland. It is a Hostel/Hotel style and you can rent private room with your own bathroom or you can do a private room or bunk beds with shared bathrooms. It is a really small boutique hotel but it was really cute. When you walk in they have a downstairs cafe/bar and an area for lounging. We stayed in a “Private Suite” room which has a king sized bed and its own bathroom.

Our room was on the 4th floor with a view of Downtown Portland, this is in the Old Chinatown quarter. Although we did not spend that much time at the hotel itself it had the perfect location as we could walk basically anywhere we were going. It was very close to a lot of restaurants and nightlife. Prices are extremely reasonable. We paid about $260 total for 2 nights in our private suite and if you want to stay here for less you can choose the bunkbeds or room with shared bathrooms.

New Cut

When we went into 2018 I really though this was gonna be my year. I had so many ideas, and so many things I wanted to do, but I just never really got the motivation I needed to do them. 2018 has been more about self love and caring than anything. I have learned so much about myself in the past couple of months and it was definitely for the better.

I started a new school which was much harder than my previous one. I moved and made new friends, experienced new things. I gained a lot and I lost a lot but it was exactly what I needed. I really cleansed out the negative in my life, the negative experiences, the negative people and I stopped saying yes and started saying no. I learned that it is nothing wrong in caring about yourself and what you need before others sometimes.

Its been a year when I started caring about things like doing my nails and getting my brows done. Not because other people do it but because I wanted to and it made me feel better about myself. I decided to start taking baths or relax in the jacuzzi at least weekly just to wind down and I have slowly starts toe exercise more and more because I mentally and physically the need to go to the gym, not because I “should” go to the gym.

The last time I did any kind of hairstyle was like years ago. I have just had like the simple long cut trimmed hair for so long that I felt it was time. I got longer bangs and trimmed my hair and I am actually loving it. It just adds some dimension. For anyone wondering I went to Gold On Grand Salon in DTLA and will probably continue to go there. 12 Days to Glow with Dermalogica

This is the season to keep up with your skincare routine so I wanted to share this 12 Days To Glow Advent Calendar with you guys. Its a great gift for yourself or someone else and even though Christmas is almost here it doesn’t necessary have to be an advent calendar. Its just a fun idea to open and get a new item every day for 12 days. The back of the packaging does reveal the calendars contents, but you don’t know which day you will get what.

The calendar features 12 travel sized products to help your skin glow during this winter season. My favorite part about these calendars are that you get the chance to try something new AND the travel friendly sizes can be used for your holiday travels as well. I know for sure that a few of these items will be coming with me on my Portland trip!

Do you guys have any favorite beauty calendars this year? Share them in the comment section 🙂

Unfortunately it seems like the calendar has sold out, but Dermalogica has a ton of other Holiday Gift Sets available if you click here

Fall Looks with Quiz Clothing

These past couple weeks have been especially hard on me, Midterms then finals and on top of that Thanksgiving and a 3 week long cold/flu thats been really setting me back. Ive really tried to create as much content as possible but sometimes you just need a break. I am done with all my finals in 2 weeks and then its Christmas already. Where did this year go?

Its finally time to layer up with fall and winter clothes and I received some pieces from Quiz. These looks feature my favorite pieces and some styling tips for fall.

The Palazzo Pant

One of my favorite thins this year is simple pieces that you can mix and match no matter what. These cute high waisted palazzo pants from Quiz are perfect for any fall day. Pair with a chunky sweater and some booties for a more dressed up look.

The Leopard Blazer

I love anything Leopard for this season and this blazer is the perfect add-on to a casual look. I paired it just with a simple dark jean and black long sleeve turtleneck crop top.

International fragrance shipping with Selfridges

This is a Sponsored post with Selfridges. All Words and opinions are 100% my own.

Selfridges has always been a one-stop-shop for all of my favorite luxury purchases. And I am so happy to have the opportunity to write about their most recent launch. Selfridges’ international shipping service for fragrances.

Selfridges are now shipping fragrances all over the world including The Middle East, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan as well as the US. They carry some of my absolute luxury fragrance brands like Jo Malone, Roja Parfum, Dior Fragrance, Le Labo and Guerlain. That makes Selfridges the perfect international destination for me to purchase my fragrances. And the best part is that shipping usually only takes 2-3 business days so I can have my order in no time.

In celebration of the launch I went right ahead to order myself a new fragrance. I decided to go with the Guerlain Champs-Élysées eau de toilette. The bottle of the fragrance is just absolutely stunning.  They call it the Bee Bottle and it was designed in 1853 by Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain for the Empress Eugénie. The fragrance itself is a perfect blend of rose, almond tree wood and blackcurrant berries.

Of course, this was one of many choices available at Selfridges. So, I have linked all of my favorite fragrances down below for you.

Unlimited Textbooks with Cengage Unlimited

This post is brought to you by Cengage Unlimited and Her Campus Media.

Its finally that time of the year when we are going back to school. I personally only have one week left to get all my back-to-school things together. That includes buying school supplies and preparing for all my classes this fall. The thing I dread the most is spending all that money on textbooks. Some of them are $200 or more for just one class. That’s why I am loving Cengage Unlimited. It is a more affordable option to access the course materials I need for my classes, and more.

Cengage Unlimited is a new, one of a kind, subscription service available for US students. You pay only $119.99 per semester for the subscription service and get access to all digital education materials as well as other study materials online with Cengage. The service offers more than 20,000 products from over 675 courses and you are able to access and use how ever many as you want or need. Besides getting access to ebooks and study materials, you also have access to all your Cengage courses on platforms like Mindtap and WebAssign, and you can get print rentals for every activated digital course for only $7.99. Shipping is free.

I have been loving the subscription service a little bit extra because not only can I access the materials my class requires, but I can also access other books within the same subject to further my knowledge. It has been really helpful in terms of preparing for my classes and also understanding the subjects better. What I don’t understand in one book, another one can explain in a different way. I have been extra nervous for the upcoming semester since I am taking all my gateway classes, so I can advance to my upper division classes. Having access to extra materials and study services is really going to help me out.

With only one week left to prepare for the fall semester I have made a list of the most important things I do in order to be prepared for the new semester. College can be super stressful at times so I like to plan everything out ahead of time.

  • Making sure I have the material for my classes (Cengage Unlimited has managed to make this a whole lot easier for me.)
  • Buying school supplies, notebooks, pens, staplers and anything else I might need.
  • Mapping out free time for studying and also planning out different areas where I can study in peace and quiet.
  • Planning out my schedule and mapping out where all my classes are so I know on my first day. I even put in all my classes in my calendar so I keep track of my weekly and monthly schedule.

New from Brahmin

Brahmin was kind enough to send me one of their new bags. The Priscilla Melbourne Mini Satchel in color Tart/Gold. This is the first Brahmin bag that I own and I am already in love with it. If you know me, you know that I love smaller bags and a mini satchel is exactly what I needed to add to my collection.

Since this is my first bag from Brahmin and also a new brand for me I wanted to talk a little bit about the brand and their vision. Im sure a lot of you may be familiar with the brand. But I’m sure that a lot of you, just like me just recently discovered them.

Brahmin was founded in 1982, so yeah they have been around for a while now! They pride themselves on having some of the best quality materials and a lot of their elater goods are imported from Italy. All products are hand made in Massachusetts and one single product can have as many as two-dozen people work on it until it has been finished.

Before even making a sample bag in leather, they use paper to create a sample. Making it easy to correct and perfect the design until it is actually made. You can also learn about the different materials and textures of their products on Brahmins website.

The Priscilla Melbourne Mini Satchel in color is one of Brahmins Top Seller as of this moment. Below I had e linked a few other items that are hot right now from Brahmin.

I was gifted the bag via Octoly. Octal isa  app where you can get free items form major brands in exchange for posting/reviewing them on your social. You need at lest 5000 Instagram followers to be approved, but if you do have that and sign up via my link you get 5 extra octo-points that later can be used to get gift cards to major stores like Amazon and Sephora.
