Perricone MD No Makeup – Makeup Review

Perricone MD are famous for their amazing skincare. So when I got a package from them containing their No Makeup makeup line. It is safe to say that I was more than surprised. I actually did note even know that they carried makeup products. A very simple makeup collection made to look like you aren’t wearing makeup when you are. We have everything from foundation to eyeshadows in the collection. And majority of the products are liquid products. But with a starting price of $30 for products, are the products worth the money?

No Makeup Foundation Serum instantly softens imperfections and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and pores with Neuropeptides without settling into fine lines. A luxurious fluid texture leaves a semi-matte suede finish with a breathable second skin effect. This lightweight and elegant formula contains a non-irritating, natural sun screen that protects skin from the age-accelerating rays of the sun. It comes in one universal shade or you can customize to match your skin tone with No Bronzer Bronzer.

Perricone MD No Makeup Foundation $60

The foundation only comes in 5 shades. With that being said I think it is time to develop some more shades. The packaging makes the foundation look a lot lighter than it actually is. And while I’m usually a light to medium or medium in my regular foundations. For some reason fair to light was my perfect shade with the no makeup foundation. Perricone MD states the following about the product on their website.

The only foundation that combines the proven results of Perricone MD science with a natural-looking, buildable no-makeup texture and finish. Scientifically formulated with ALPHA LIPOIC ACID, No Makeup Foundation minimizes the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores over time.

The formula of the foundation is extremely light and a true liquid foundation. I experienced that I used a lot of product when applying with a beauty blender. I did not try any other application methods but would assume a silicone base might minimize product usage. The foundation did however look absolutely stunning. It evened out my skin tone but at the same time it did look like my skin. It minimized the pores somewhat but they were still visible. I would rate this product 4/5. The missing rate for the lack of shades and the fact that so much product had to be used. Overall I absolutely love the foundation and how it looks on my skin.

Perricone MD No Makeup Concealer $35 – I didn’t really get a chance to try the concealer. It had a very foul smell. Not sure if this is normal but the expiration dates on the concealers were towards the end of 2019. I could simply not take the smell of the product so I opted out from using it at all. I really love the blush and the bronzer. It gives you a natural finish without being too much and the liquid formula blends out effortlessly with everything else.

Private Label Extensions Mink Lashes

This post is sponsored by Private Label Extensions, all words and opinions are 100% my own.

Private Label Extensions were kind enough to send me a few pairs of their Mink Lashes to try out. And although Im in no way consider myself a lash expert, I have tried quite a few different brands. Private Label Extensions makes handcrafted, 100% mink lashes that are super affordable. On pair of lashes starts at under $10. And since they are made of 100% Mink hair they can also be reused up to 25 times (recommended).

I got two pairs sent to me – Lola and Claire. They both start at $9.75 and can be purchased in a single pair, 5, 10 or 25 pair sets. The lashes does not come with any glue so you do have to get that separately – but on the other hand you can use your favorite lash glue. I also got their new rose gold applicator to easily apply my lashes. I have used one of these tools before and it definitely helps you if you’re new to lashes, or if you just want a fast and efficient way to get your lashes on. Highly recommend you guys to check out Private Label Extensions they have so many different lashes to choose from!

What’s in my bag with Tampax Pocket Radiant

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Tampax Radiant at Walmart. The opinions and text are all mine.

Being a girl and always on the go has definitely taught me a thing or two about what I should carry with me in my bag. Over the years, I have learned that less is more. And I always opt for the small cross body bag. Which yes, sometimes makes bringing more things hard. And if you’re on your period, it makes it even harder. But I have also learned to only bring what I really need. So, let’s take a look into what I bring in my bag and why the new Tampax Pocket Radiant is so convenient.

I probably have some of the smallest bags you could ever imagine, and still I manage to fit all of my favorite to-go products and other must-have things like my phone, keys, sunglasses and wallet. I always carry with me my favorite lip oil, hand crème and sunscreen because the California sun is no joke!

The new Tampax Pocket Radiant comes in a pocket size. Convenient for any girl that is always on the go. It also comes in a super cute and unique resalable wrapper with a new floral design. So no matter how much stuff I have in my purse, I will always be able to fit a Tampax Pocket Radiant in it. The new Tampax Pocket Radiant can be purchased at Walmart and if you click this link it will take you right there.

5 reasons to why you need to use SPF

Growing up I never really learned the importance of using sunscreen. I guess it’s the Nordic roots and the fact that we barely have any sun over there. It wasn’t until a year ago or so I really started using sunscreen properly. I still forget to put it on sometimes but I am definitely getting better on using it.

By using Olay Total Effects Whip Face Moisturizer SPF 25, a face moisturizer and SPF all in one, it makes it so much easier to remember putting on the sunscreen that I need daily. Living in California has definitely made me more aware of the sun and the possible future damages it can make if you don’t wear any SPF. Here are five reasons to why you need to use SPF.

  1. SPF protects you from various UV radiation and most of these are related to skin cancer. By using SPF you care blocking out these rays and have a much higher protection from getting or developing skin cancer.
  2. It prevents your skin form aging prematurely. UV rays can damage your skin and you can develop dark spots, wrinkles and more at a younger age.
  3. It prevents your skin from getting burnt in the sun. We all love to go on a sun vacation and getting a nice tan. But please don’t forget to wear SPF. You’ll still get a tan but it will be nicer and last longer if you do it the right way.
  4. Your skin will get healthier. SPF usually protects the natural collagen, keratin and elastin in your skin. So your skin will stay healthy and glowing.
  5. The risks of not wearing SPF is not wort that one tan on your vacation. So just wear it.

Happy Hour at Testa – Downtown Los Angeles

As I am now living in Downtown Los Angeles I have embraced the culture of Happy Hours. Both for food and drinks. I love going to new spots when the occasion lets us and my roommate Arielle is off work at 4. We decided to try out a new spot this time, testa. A modern small Italian restaurant in the middle of the South Park are of Downtown Los Angeles. We arrived around 6pm on a Friday night and the restaurant was surprisingly not busy at all. Only a few people were there enjoying the Happy Hour menu. I was only to assume that maybe many were ready to go home on a Friday night to prepare for a bigger evening later on.

The restaurant is small but the decor is everything I love. There is a mix of modern and industrial, art deco and retro. Some walls are just plain concrete, some has different shaped mirrors on them, and one is just a retro flower wallpaper. Its Instagram worthy in all the ways it can be. Seating varies from bar seats, to regular tables, outdoor tables and smaller boots. There is also a small section where there is a couch and coffee table for a more causal experience next to the bar.

As mentioned we were there just in time for happy hour, so that is what we decided to go with. We got three happy hour dishes to share as well as drinks form the Happy Hour menu. All beers are $2 off and the rest of the drinks ranges from $7-$10 including anything from craft cocktails to wine and sangria. I decided to go for a Paloma, a frisky but fresh tequila cocktail. We ordered in the Spring Salad ($10), the Chicken Sandwich ($10),  and the Grilled Burger ($10). The portions were perfect for sharing and the plating of everything was beautiful.

Spring salad $10 – Artichoke, Peas, Romaine, Pea tendrils, sweet pea dressing, goat cheese.

The spring salad was fresh and light, the combination of the greens, the roots and then the sweet goat cheese was just perfectly blended. Would definitely come back just for this one. Its a light treat.

Chicken Sandwich $10 – Chicken Tender, sourdough, coleslaw, jalapeños, cilantro.

The chicken sandwich was OK. Not bad, but not something I would be craving at 9pm. The chicken itself was great, crispy but juicy. The slaw was overwhelming and I wish the chicken itself had more flavor to it. I did not taste any jalapeños or cilantro so I don’t know where they went. The sourdough was meh. I wish the bread for the chicken sandwich had been better. It tasted like it came on a slice of toast. Would probably not get again.

Grilled Burger $10 – Beef patty, iceberg, tomato, onions, cheddar cheese and house sauce.

We ordered the burger medium rare and the patty was perfectly cooked. the house sauce is delicious, a bit drippy, but delicious. I love that the birch bun it came on was grilled as well. It enhances the flavors and makes it taste a bi smokey. Would definitely recommend but also, get a side salad or some fries if you order this alone.

We will definitely be back at testa for dinner some time, and I am excited to explore more of their menu. You can find the full happy hour menu by clicking here.

Spring with My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream

This post is sponsored by My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

If you know me you know that I love Japanese treats. Mochi Ice Cream is one of my absolute favorites as I love the combination of the rich cake and Ice Cream. If you guys haven’t checked out my past post with My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream you can check it out here. I just moved in to my new apartment and are still settling in. My new roommates love it when I bring home treats and My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream was no exception. I picked up a few of the original flavors – Vanilla, Ripe Strawberry, Sweet Mango and Green Tea.  If you’re not familiar, Mochi Ice Cream is a rice cake filled with ice cream. Besides from the flavors I brought home My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream is also available in Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Cookies and Cream. It is the perfect snack for when your craving something but want something small for yourself or bite-sized to share. My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream is available at several stores. Follow My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream here on Instagram.

Spring skin with Olay Whips

This post is sponsored by Olay, but all opinions are my own.

If you have followed me for the past few months, you know one of my biggest changes this year was to take the time to take better care of myself. That included eating better, working out more, and also creating a good skincare routine for myself. During these past 4 months, I have seen significant change in my skin and it has definitely been for the better. A lot of it thanks to Olay.I think that for many of you time is the biggest challenge. But making small changes doesn’t have to take up a lot of time of your day. That is why I love the Olay Total Effects Whip Facial Moisturizer so much. The Olay Whip Moisturizer is a lightweight, nourishing moisturizer rich of Vitamin C and E. Thanks to the transformation from cream to liquid, fast absorption, matte and shine-free finish you can start your makeup routine right after application.

I picked up the Olay Total Effects Whip Facial Moisturizer ($29.99) at CVS and I have been using the Whip Moisturizer for almost two weeks now. I am obsessed with using it at the start of my day as a base for everything else. I have been wearing minimal makeup as the Olay Total Effects Whip Facial Moisturizer have helped evening out my skin tone and also made it look brighter. Having good skin really boosts my confidence and while wearing makeup is fun, the key is always flawless skin.

Since I am still in my early 20s I would also love to try the Olay Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream to help with my pink tones and also some sun spots. The Olay Total Effects Whip Facial Moisturizer would be more recommended if you are in your 30s and if you are in your 40s or older I would recommend the Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream Face Moisturizer. These can all be found at CVS. I would love for you to try our Olay Whips and let me know what you think of it as well!
