Honestly, I used to be such a good blogger. I kind of understand why people stopped following along. I just don’t share anything anymore. It all became so shallow when my motivation disappeared. Life has changed so much in the past couple of years. Like, adulthood started to hit me and I kind of lost myself in the journey.
I used to just post about everything, take pretty pictures and literally share all my thoughts. Now I just think of them, do something else and forget about it. I don’t want it to be that way. My blog is my journal, that was the whole purpose of it. That is what it should be.
I am gonna hit my 6 year mark in Los Angeles this July. It’s crazy to think that it has been that long. 18 year old me landed here in July of 2013 expecting a 2 year stay and then move home and get a job. But that didn’t happen. This fall I’ll have my BS in Marketing and who knows what will happen after that.
This post is sponsored by Bioré, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
Anyone that follows me knows that my enlarged pores is one of my main skin concerns. And it has been for quite some time. Bioré is one of the brands who focuses on pores, blackheads and acne so that is why I love using their products for these specific needs. I picked up their new products; Bioré Witch Hazel Toner and Bioré Witch Hazel Pore Strips from Walmart to try out. If you have been around for a while you’ll also know that I tried out their Charcoal line in a post last year.
Witch Hazel is good for many things and I love that Bioré decided to include that in both the Pore Strips and the Toner. Witch Hazel helps with tightening pores, and the salicylic acid helps treat blemishes.
The pore strips, if you’re not familiar with them already, helps lifting clogged pores and blackheads on and around your nose where you tend to be producing the most oil. These strips deep clean, remove blackheads, refine pores, and help prevent future breakouts. Using the toner after the pore strip helps with restoring the skins natural balance.
If you’re interested in checking these out i suggest that you go to your closest Walmart or you can find the toner here and the Pore Strips here.
So this year is definitely the year when some changes has to be made. I let myself go way too far and have gained all too much weight an fat to feel good about myself. I think that is mainly why Im no longer comfortable in my body and hate taking photos of myself. So, I decided to go all in with BBG and also going the 12 week BBG challenge that started yesterday.
I am using the SWEAT app and Kayla Itsines BBG program. Right now they do have a special offer and if you’re a first time user you get the SWEAT app for only $1 for 3 months. A super deal if you ask me AND you can join the 12 week challenge! I made a separate BBG only instagram account so if you want to follow my journey on a daily basis you can go follow me there at @sof.bbg
Initially I was gonna do all my favorites under $100 but I went through almost 1000 items before the $$$ even hit over $50 using their extra 25% SALE code. So instead I decided to do my favorite sale items that will cost you $50 or less using the code HELLO2019 on select sale items from ShopBop. By scrolling though the lookbooks you can just clock on an image to get directed to the product. The sale ends on 1/4 and some items are selling out fast.
When I visited Portland with my roommate Arielle we decided to book a room at The Society Hotel in Downtown Portland. It is a Hostel/Hotel style and you can rent private room with your own bathroom or you can do a private room or bunk beds with shared bathrooms. It is a really small boutique hotel but it was really cute. When you walk in they have a downstairs cafe/bar and an area for lounging. We stayed in a “Private Suite” room which has a king sized bed and its own bathroom.
Our room was on the 4th floor with a view of Downtown Portland, this is in the Old Chinatown quarter. Although we did not spend that much time at the hotel itself it had the perfect location as we could walk basically anywhere we were going. It was very close to a lot of restaurants and nightlife. Prices are extremely reasonable. We paid about $260 total for 2 nights in our private suite and if you want to stay here for less you can choose the bunkbeds or room with shared bathrooms.

When we went into 2018 I really though this was gonna be my year. I had so many ideas, and so many things I wanted to do, but I just never really got the motivation I needed to do them. 2018 has been more about self love and caring than anything. I have learned so much about myself in the past couple of months and it was definitely for the better.
I started a new school which was much harder than my previous one. I moved and made new friends, experienced new things. I gained a lot and I lost a lot but it was exactly what I needed. I really cleansed out the negative in my life, the negative experiences, the negative people and I stopped saying yes and started saying no. I learned that it is nothing wrong in caring about yourself and what you need before others sometimes.
Its been a year when I started caring about things like doing my nails and getting my brows done. Not because other people do it but because I wanted to and it made me feel better about myself. I decided to start taking baths or relax in the jacuzzi at least weekly just to wind down and I have slowly starts toe exercise more and more because I mentally and physically the need to go to the gym, not because I “should” go to the gym.
The last time I did any kind of hairstyle was like years ago. I have just had like the simple long cut trimmed hair for so long that I felt it was time. I got longer bangs and trimmed my hair and I am actually loving it. It just adds some dimension. For anyone wondering I went to Gold On Grand Salon in DTLA and will probably continue to go there. This is the season to keep up with your skincare routine so I wanted to share this 12 Days To Glow Advent Calendar with you guys. Its a great gift for yourself or someone else and even though Christmas is almost here it doesn’t necessary have to be an advent calendar. Its just a fun idea to open and get a new item every day for 12 days. The back of the packaging does reveal the calendars contents, but you don’t know which day you will get what.
The calendar features 12 travel sized products to help your skin glow during this winter season. My favorite part about these calendars are that you get the chance to try something new AND the travel friendly sizes can be used for your holiday travels as well. I know for sure that a few of these items will be coming with me on my Portland trip!
Do you guys have any favorite beauty calendars this year? Share them in the comment section 🙂
Unfortunately it seems like the calendar has sold out, but Dermalogica has a ton of other Holiday Gift Sets available if you click here.
These past couple weeks have been especially hard on me, Midterms then finals and on top of that Thanksgiving and a 3 week long cold/flu thats been really setting me back. Ive really tried to create as much content as possible but sometimes you just need a break. I am done with all my finals in 2 weeks and then its Christmas already. Where did this year go?
Its finally time to layer up with fall and winter clothes and I received some pieces from Quiz. These looks feature my favorite pieces and some styling tips for fall.
The Palazzo Pant
One of my favorite thins this year is simple pieces that you can mix and match no matter what. These cute high waisted palazzo pants from Quiz are perfect for any fall day. Pair with a chunky sweater and some booties for a more dressed up look.
The Leopard Blazer
I love anything Leopard for this season and this blazer is the perfect add-on to a casual look. I paired it just with a simple dark jean and black long sleeve turtleneck crop top.
