Words With Friends 2

This post is sponsored by Zynga, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

I have always been a big fan of games that challenges me and makes me use my brain. Words With Friends 2 makes me feel super smart while playing against friends and other people online. If I’m ever unsure of whether a word actually exists I use the dictionary feature in WWF2. I find most of my friends by connecting the app to my Facebook. If you guys want to challenge me, my username is sofiaN100.

Since Words with Friends 2 is played on the phone is the perfect game for me. I can play wherever I am or wherever I am going. I have a ton of travel plans coming up and it will be the perfect pastime activity. This summer I’m enjoying laying out in the sun a lot or walking around the city. No matter where I go I can bring Words With Friends 2 with me – and play together with my friends even if they’re on the other side of the world. I’m really not the best at this game. But I am learning more words as I go and progressing towards becoming a better player.

Have you ever played Words With Friends? If not you can download it right here. Let me know in the comments down below what your favorite Words With Friends moment is. It can be an epic Words With Friends game you’ve played or just a story of maybe how you met a new friend.

What’s in my bag with Tampax Pocket Radiant

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Tampax Radiant at Walmart. The opinions and text are all mine.

Being a girl and always on the go has definitely taught me a thing or two about what I should carry with me in my bag. Over the years, I have learned that less is more. And I always opt for the small cross body bag. Which yes, sometimes makes bringing more things hard. And if you’re on your period, it makes it even harder. But I have also learned to only bring what I really need. So, let’s take a look into what I bring in my bag and why the new Tampax Pocket Radiant is so convenient.

I probably have some of the smallest bags you could ever imagine, and still I manage to fit all of my favorite to-go products and other must-have things like my phone, keys, sunglasses and wallet. I always carry with me my favorite lip oil, hand crème and sunscreen because the California sun is no joke!

The new Tampax Pocket Radiant comes in a pocket size. Convenient for any girl that is always on the go. It also comes in a super cute and unique resalable wrapper with a new floral design. So no matter how much stuff I have in my purse, I will always be able to fit a Tampax Pocket Radiant in it. The new Tampax Pocket Radiant can be purchased at Walmart and if you click this link it will take you right there.

5 reasons to why you need to use SPF

Growing up I never really learned the importance of using sunscreen. I guess it’s the Nordic roots and the fact that we barely have any sun over there. It wasn’t until a year ago or so I really started using sunscreen properly. I still forget to put it on sometimes but I am definitely getting better on using it.

By using Olay Total Effects Whip Face Moisturizer SPF 25, a face moisturizer and SPF all in one, it makes it so much easier to remember putting on the sunscreen that I need daily. Living in California has definitely made me more aware of the sun and the possible future damages it can make if you don’t wear any SPF. Here are five reasons to why you need to use SPF.

  1. SPF protects you from various UV radiation and most of these are related to skin cancer. By using SPF you care blocking out these rays and have a much higher protection from getting or developing skin cancer.
  2. It prevents your skin form aging prematurely. UV rays can damage your skin and you can develop dark spots, wrinkles and more at a younger age.
  3. It prevents your skin from getting burnt in the sun. We all love to go on a sun vacation and getting a nice tan. But please don’t forget to wear SPF. You’ll still get a tan but it will be nicer and last longer if you do it the right way.
  4. Your skin will get healthier. SPF usually protects the natural collagen, keratin and elastin in your skin. So your skin will stay healthy and glowing.
  5. The risks of not wearing SPF is not wort that one tan on your vacation. So just wear it.

You can find Olay Total Effects Whip Face Moisturizer SPF 25 by following this link to CVS.

A-Sorted Box, your new favorite subscription box

Curated for the person with a modern lifestyle, the A-sorted Subscription box differs from many other subscription boxes out there. And the best part is that it is only $29 with a value of over $100. The Women’s box covers items from Beauty, Skincare, Fashion, Wellness, and more. And the Men’s box includes Grooming Products, Fashion Accessories, Snacks, and more. I was thrilled to receive the Fall box which included items from seven different brands. a-sorted box, subscription box, los angeles, organic, vegan, paleo, beauty, style, fashion, health, snacksBased out of Los Angeles each box is curated for quality. That is why the box is seasonal and is limited edition. Several brands in this box were new to me and I love discovering new brands and items. Isn’t it just the worst when you pay for a subscription box and get items that you already have or find it that other subscription boxes has the same items? Most of the items in the box were marked with either organic, vegan, cruelty free, natural ingredients and more. Which, I am totally for! We need to not only better our eating habits when it comes to vegetarianism/veganism but also think about the product that we buy and use.

*Please take in note that I am NOT vegan but sometimes make the vegan or vegetarian choices.

This is just the beginning

Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post.  Tried other diets? It’s time for Jenny Craig!

First of all, let me tell you that I have so many things to say about my experience on Jenny Craig. This has been such a big and important journey for me. Ten whole weeks have passed since I started the Jenny Craig program. Completely crazy how fast time has gone by. When I first started the program, I had my doubts on if it would work, and if I would be able to stick to it. It feels like it was yesterday I first met with my Jenny Craig consultant. It wasn’t easy reflecting over what and why I wanted to lose weight. And it wasn’t easy confessing my bad eating behaviors. I didn’t eat regularly and when I did, I would have one huge meal and just stuff myself until I felt sick. I used to be tired a lot, I didn’t feel good about the way I looked and felt on a daily basis. That is also one reason why I almost stopped posting photos of myself and outfits. I just didn’t feel comfortable and it showed in the photos.

One thing I told Laura, my consultant, was that I wanted to feel comfortable taking pictures and posting looks on social media again. And I have somewhat gotten to that point. I want to start doing YouTube videos again and I have so many ideas and looks planned ahead of me. I felt like it has given me reason to take up my blogging full time again. And I love being in photos with my friends whenever we hang out no matter what I am wearing or if I have a full face of makeup on or not.

Jenny Craig makes the journey easy. I have stuck to the meal plans the best I could. Since I didn’t need to buy anything but fruits and veggies, it was easy not to munch on other things since I didn’t really shop for anything else at the grocery store. Whenever people around me would offer something, I would politely say no, or just try a little bit. I did not increase the weekly exercising and I still lost 1-1.5 pound every week.* I knew that if I had worked harder working out and doing lots of cardio that number would have been even bigger. But I didn’t, and that was a choice I made. I am proud to say that I lost 11 pounds in 10 weeks just by adjusting what food I ate and my eating routines. * Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week. I received promotional consideration.

Most of my weight has been lost around my waist and hips. Even my arms started to get a little bit smaller at the end! That is a really hard place for me to lose fat on. Now after 10 weeks of meal planning from Jenny Craig, I have started my transition to try and make it on my own — cooking my own food and coping with my old eating habits. I have still managed to lose weight after going off the food because I have learned to manage my portions and make sure I keep up with eating regularly. I can still eat takeout and have sweets, but instead of eating so much that I go into a food coma, I eat small portions. I ordered two Thai dishes last Sunday and they lasted me for almost 5 days.

The thing is, it’s not entirely about what you eat. Because I have been eating everything from pizza and lasagna, to a healthy tuna salad on the Jenny Craig menu. I even got Triple Chocolate Cheesecake for dessert. The portions were small compared to the portion sizes I used to eat, yet they filled me up enough to keep me going for a couple of hours until it was time for my next meal,  which is how I manage my food now as well. Small portions and eating regularly  to keep my metabolism up.

I don’t see this as the end, I see it as the first chapter of a long journey.

My must-have workout bag and fitness items

As you all know I have been on the fitness path for quite some time now. I have been adjusting my diet and added more exercising to my daily routine. Keeping active has really made me a happier person and I have learned a whole lot about myself. Therefore, I wanted to share some of my favorite and must have fitness items with you! These things haven’t just made it easier for me, but also happier. And, they have also given me motivation and encouragement to continue on the path to a healthier lifestyle.

Ultracor Leggings

These leggings are hands down the best things I have ever worn. The almost $200 price tag do make them justice. It feels like I am wearing a second skin and no matter what activity I am doing, these will stay in place, suck everything in, but not feel like they’re tight. Thus far I own 4 Ultracor leggings and they are the best!

Fitbit

I cannot rave enough about my Fitbit. Ever since I bought my first one about a year and a half ago I have been constantly obsessed. I recently upgraded my Fitbit Charge to a Fitbit Charge 2 and I got even more obsessed. They have different variants for different needs. I like the Charge 2 because it measures my hertrate and therefore also how much sleep and exercise I get each day. It even recognizes what kind of exercising I do.

U By Kotex Fitness Tampons

It doesn’t necessarily imply to only when I need to workout. But being on your period when you’re int he best groove and want to workout is the absolute worst! These new fitness compact tampons from U By Kotex are amazing! The tampons come in compact packages so they are so easy to carry with you. You even get a little holder to put them in so you don’t have to have them laying around loose and risk having someone see them. Along with the tampons I like to get the liners for some extra protection.

Right now you can get a $2 rebate when you buy any U By Kotex product at Walgreens. Find the rebate coupon here.

SWB Booty Bands

Okay, so I am all about this booty workouts this year and these bands are SOOOO good for you! They will just give you that extra resistance for the otherwise easy exercises and help out on the way. I randomly came across this Aussie girl. Not only is she super fit and look great, but she makes these booty bands! Seeing all the photos and videos people and posted with them made me want them. I now have 3 of these on their way to me. Im upgrading from my old bands!!

Swell water bottle

It keeps it cool and it keeps it fresh for hours! If there is one thing I hate when working out, its warm water. It should be cold and refreshing. Nowadays I don’t use anything else but Swell bottles. Both inside and outside of the gym.

February Glossybox

Glossy box were kind enough to send me their February box to try it out. If you’re not familiar with Glossybox yet let me tell you a little bit about it. Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box and in each box you will receive 5-6 sample products from different current beauty brands. A subscription plan starts at $17.50 per month. Beauty subscription boxes are a great way to explore and discover new beauty products and brands. It is also great for trying out new products. I used to be a huge Glossybox fan but not long ago I stopped with almost all of my subscription boxes because I noticed that even though I loved receiving them, all the items I received just started piling up.

Whats unique about Glossybox is that not everyone gets the same items. The items your box various to skin types and preferences. So, the 5 items that I received in my February Glossybox were; Jeanne Arthes L’Eau de Rose, a perfume with the fresh spring scents of rose. Schwarzkopf Professional Usabc Repair Rescues Deep Nourishing Treatment which I have not tried yet but will as soon as my extensions are out of my hair. I have only tried Eve by Eves Mattifying HD Loose Powder a few times but so far I am liking it. Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat is probably something that I won’t use because I never wear pink on my nails and I am too lazy to put on an extra gel coat.

The Estée Edit Pink Peony Overnight Water Pack was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE out of all the items in this box and I actually ended up buying the full sized products from Sephora to use once my little sample is gone! Its pricy but SO worth it if you have dry skin. You also need to use an extremely small amount of product. Do you subscribe to Glossybox? If so, what was the best product you have ever received?

Update…

Life has been absolutely crazy lately.I have kept myself so extremely busy and kind of took on a little bit too much at the same time. Im still not used to being back in school and trying to manage the time. It takes me so much more time studying at home than I expected it would do.

I spent my last weekend redecorating my room and getting in a completely new bed from lull which you will see soon. This weekend I will focus solely on studying as I have a trip to New York coming up in a couple of days.

The New Coolpad Conjr

I have been testing out the new phone from Coolpad. The Coolpad Conjr. With a 5 inch HD screen and sleek iron gray aluminum body. The design itself caught my eyes. Conjr has an impressive 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 8 megapixel camera on the front. Both with LED flash. As a blogger and active instagrammer it is crucial that any phone keep up with the photo quality. Especially if I don’t have my camera with me. Trying out the camera was one of the things I was most excited about.

Conjr is an Android phone so it took me a little while to get used to the new user face. I haven’t even touched an android phone in years. I was surprised by the super user friendly design and that the fingerprint reader is on the back of the phone. Exactly where I would put my finger normally. Reading my fingerprint without any problems and unlocks instantly.

Something else that is really cool about the Conjr is that it has two slots for either SIM cards or extra memory cards. Being able to have 2 SIM cards in one phone will be super handy for traveling or if you want to have a business number and a private number. But only one phone. The phone comes with 16 GB built in memory which isn’t a lot. However the phone fits up to two extra memory cards.

So what do I like about the phone? Even though it is an Android the user face is really easy to navigate and the design makes it easily accessible to unlock, lock and navigate trough apps. The 5 inch screen is just the perfect size in my opinion. All of the buttons below the screen are touch. So there are no physical buttons except from the on/off button and the volume button. The camera has a kind of wide angle lens. When taking photos in low light it really works magic. A pro function lets you change the ISO, exposure and more which was really enjoyable! There is also a selfie beauty function. Frankly I would keep this function to the Asian market only. Although the rear camera has an impressive 13 megapixel I found that the photos would come out kind of grainy if the natural light was low. The PRO function was my absolute favorite especially when good daylight is provided.

Considering that the price for the phone is only $179 and that it comes unlocked. It is really a steal if you need a good phone, but not a spectacular one. The sturdy design is great while still being light weight. If it weren’t for the fact that I had bought a new phone just a couple weeks before receiving this, I would have used it full-time. I will keep this close and definitely use it for travels. I will have this phone with me during the upcoming week so keep an eye out on my other social media platforms to see photo quality and more. You can also follow Coolpad America on Instagram for updates and more.

The phone is available at Amazon and Newegg.
