Summer Glow Makeup look with Laura Mercier

It has been a while since I shared a makeup look. It was finally time to do it again and I am so happy to partner up today with Laura Mercier. And show you some of my favorite products to use this summer to get the perfect summer look! My ideal summer look is light, fresh and easy but with a fun colorful twist – like a fun lipstick. And it must last all day!

laura mercier, flawless fusion ultra-longwear foundation, foundation primer, candle glow concealer and highlighter, translucent powder, Face Illuminator Powder,Above are my top essential Laura Mercier products and they can all be bought at Sephora. I have owned some products since previously and they have been among my all time favorites. Others are completely new to me, and happily surprised me. The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is definitely one of my holy grail products. But we will get to that soon.

A good base is always key to me. You want to find a primer that suits you and focuses on targeting your problems like redness, pores or dryness. You also want it to elevate your foundation. During the summer it is also important to use a SPF to protect your skin from the sun. I used the original foundation primer from Laura Mercier to create this look. It has vitamin A,D and E and has a water based formula. But if I was to spend the day outside I would have gone with the Foundation Primer Protect that has a SPF of 30.

laura mercier, flawless fusion ultra-longwear foundation, foundation primer, candle glow concealer and highlighterI also got to try out the new Flawless Fusion Ultra Long-Wear Foundation that is being released on July 6th at Sephora. I could have probably gone up a shade but the foundation itself was incredible. It was extremely light but had very nice coverage. I rarely find foundations that doesn’t patch up any dry spots that I may have and at the end of the day it didn’t look greasy. The Candleglow Concealer and Highlighter is also a new product with a click end to release function and sponge tip. Together they work extremely well . To set my entire look I used my favorite setting powder of all time – the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder.

Just like many other beauty fanatics, the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder has been a holy grail product among my collection since I first got hands on it. I use it to bake. I use it to lightly set my concealer and foundation. And I use it as an eyeshadow base. There are just so many things you can do with a good translucent powder! It comes in two shades – Translucent and Translucent Medium Deep. To ensure it suites any skin tone. Besides from ensuring that my makeup stays in place and looks fresh all day the powder has some other amazing features as well. The thicker than usual formula blends flawlessly and has a no flashback formula! It will not settle into your crease or pores while creating a sheer matte finish that lasts you all day.

Bronzy with BECCA Cosmetics

BECCA Cosmetics new Sunlit Bronzer* arrived at my doorsteps last week and I have been so excited about trying these out. Surprisingly fast summer sprung upon us. And this summer I am all about bronzing and strobing. That means, no hard contouring. The Sunlit Bronzers come in five different shades. Bali Sands, a soft golden beige. Capri Coast, a warm golden brown. Bronzed Bondi, my favorite in a medium amber gold. Ipanema Sun, a darker medium auburn brown. And lastly Maui Nights that is a more sun kissed bronze with a rose pigment. There is really a shade in the collection for everyone and that is one of many reasons why I love this brand.

The packaging is the same size as the BECCA highlights. But the packaging has more of a golden shimmer look to it with a golden lid. Instead of a matte finish it is shiny with gold glitter. It gives me major beach vibes and makes me wanna go and get a tan. I would say that the bronzer is a mix between the BECCA blushes and the highlighters. They have that rich pigment, but at the same time they’re super sparkly which will make it look like you are using a highlighter. This would not be a product that I would use for an every day look as I tend to lean towards the more matte bronzers. but if your looking for that glowy one this is definitely it!

Pictured is my favorite shade, Bronzed Bondi. It has that right amount of warmth that suits my skin tone. The Sunlit Bronzer* costs $38 just like many of the other BECCA products do. And I do highly recommend that you stop by the nearest Sephora and pick up a sample. 99% of the time I would recommend BECCA products because they do really hold incredible quality. By now I probably have ever single item that they have ever released and BECCA are in many cases my go to brand.

Makeup remover and facial cleanser for sensitive skin

This content is sponsored by Olay. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I hope you enjoy following along! #ad

I am always on the lookout for making my daily routine as easy as possible. It is extremely important that no matter how busy I am, I make sure to take care of myself. That is why I was thrilled when Olay contacted me to review their Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths. The cleansing cloths have a 4-in-1 formula which includes cleanser, toner, mask and scrub. Best of all? It also removes your makeup and eye makeup flawlessly! I was a little skeptical at first. Could one product really do all this and work with my sensitive skin? It appears so.

One package comes in a container in which you can easily store them. It is not only convenient for at home use, but also perfect for when you are traveling or on the go. I would mostly reach for the cleansing cloths when I have had a long day and didn’t feel like doing a whole lot of work. Or, when I was out and didn’t want to bring 2-4 different items just to wash my face. A lot of makeup or no makeup, I still make sure to clean my face every day. The 4-in-1 formula definitely beats any face wipes or micellar water. Since the cleansing cloths are dry they won’t get ruined if you leave the box open. That is a constant problem I have with face wipes.

Here is how to use the facial cloths. First, you need to wet one cleansing cloth and build up a lather. I like to work the cloth in circular motions around my face and neck to make sure it also exfoliates. The cleansing cloths are textured with special “pockets” that will break up dirt, oil and makeup plus it works two times better than a normal cleanser. The cleanser is gentle enough to not make my sensitive skin irritated. It doesn’t have a strong scent to it either. I find it the easiest to rinse off the cloth and then use it again to rinse my face. The results are a clean face that feels hydrated. Have you tried the Olay Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths? Let me know in the comments!

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

The latest release from Hourglass is the Veil Mineral Primer. The company explains the product as “an oil-free primer silky, airy texture that leaves a smooth canvas for makeup, while reducing the look of redness, pores, and wrinkles”. The primer also supposedly conceals redness and minimize signs or pores, lines and wrinkles. The Veil Mineral Primer has a SPF 15 with mineral-derived sunscreens. It’s ideal for all skin types, even sensitive and repels water so that the makeup can stay on longer. The formula is free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates and you can buy it for a whooping $54 at your local Sephora.

To me, a good primer is essential in my makeup routine. Whether I do a natural simple look or go all glam I make sure that I have the best base possible to make it last. I was super excited to try out the Veil Mineral Primer from Hourglass as soon s it arrived to my doorsteps. I must admit, the packaging is absolutely stunning just like everything else form Hourglass. And I did not expect anything else. However, I was extremely disappointed in the product itself.

We are just transitioning from winter to spring/summer and our skin is probably in a very fragile state. I make sure to moisturize and keep up with my daily cleansing routine. But even so I notice som dryness and pores here and there. Since the product itself claimed to be suitable for all skin types as well as sensitive I expected a whole lot more from it. At first when I tested it on my hands it did indeed feel silky soft and I felt like it was very air light. It did however leave a thin firm of white residue.

I really wanted this product to work out. But as soon as I applied it to my skin I could instantly tell that it wouldn’t work. I could see my pores actually being enlarged and any dry area would look even drier and the white layer would show off eve more on the dry areas. It just looked awful by itself. Applying a foundation over it did not help at all and my skin actually looked way better without a primer. Unfortunately, for me and my skin, this primer is a big no.

That is how things work in life. Not everything will suit everyone. This does however not mean that this primer won’t be your holy grail primer. This just means it simply did not work out for me. And I will most likely not give it another try after this. I will stick with my favorite primers from Smashbox, and as usual I will link them down below together with some of my other favorite primers!

My love for Beauty, Fashion, Design and Wine

I have always been a multi-tasker. My head is constantly in 10 different places. There is no wonder to why I have such a broad range of interests. Although I don’t have favorites (yes, Im weird, I know), I do know what I like. My interests for interior design started first when I moved away from home at 16. I finally had a chance to kind of create my own space. I have always been one to enjoy change and adventure. But Im also the kind of person who would rather stay at home on a Friday night with a bottle of Wente wine and watchNetflix.

Moving to the US was definitely the biggest milestone when it came to me finally becoming a grown up. I was completely on my own without anyone here to help me. I lived the typical student life where you shared a 2 bedroom apartment with 3-4 other people. And of course we would all work hard in school. But play harder going out. Eventually, I found that I actually liked to stay in with a glass of wine, rather than going out. And, so of course, the best way for me to like being home was to create a space that I love.

My room has drastically changed its looks throughout the years. But now is when I feel like I actually know what I want it to look like. Its a mix of Scandinavian minimalist and modern rustic. I have incorporated coppers and DIY:ed marble shelves. But also included big chunky wooden pieces and metals. Fashion and beauty accents are added throughout the room. I have been fortunate enough to being able to style it the way I wanted over time. And with patience finding some key items to make it all come together. Even if it is on the right track, I am far from done decorating. But, it is good enough for me to wanting to be here all the time.

By the way, white wines are my jam.

The most drastic change I made was a couple weeks ago when I got my new bed. I cleared out of almost all of my IKEA furnitures and decided to start from scratch. I realized, that with patience, it didn’t have to cost a lot to create my dream space. Spending a weekend doing DIYs transforming old boring furnitures and throwing out the old felt really good. And I really couldn’t have done it all without sipping on my wine. I found a new love for stores I had never been to before and find myself there two-three times a week just to pan out for whats new in store. Not that I need anything in particular. But, because I want to see if there is anything I could add.

I think that we all have a turning point in our lives when we become grown up. And we start to figure out what we actually want. Career wise, I am still a lost soul. If I will stay in this home for a longer period, that I do not know. But at least I know what to strive for once the time comes to move again. This has been my home for over a year now and I am finally starting to grow into it.

February Glossybox

Glossy box were kind enough to send me their February box to try it out. If you’re not familiar with Glossybox yet let me tell you a little bit about it. Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box and in each box you will receive 5-6 sample products from different current beauty brands. A subscription plan starts at $17.50 per month. Beauty subscription boxes are a great way to explore and discover new beauty products and brands. It is also great for trying out new products. I used to be a huge Glossybox fan but not long ago I stopped with almost all of my subscription boxes because I noticed that even though I loved receiving them, all the items I received just started piling up.

Whats unique about Glossybox is that not everyone gets the same items. The items your box various to skin types and preferences. So, the 5 items that I received in my February Glossybox were; Jeanne Arthes L’Eau de Rose, a perfume with the fresh spring scents of rose. Schwarzkopf Professional Usabc Repair Rescues Deep Nourishing Treatment which I have not tried yet but will as soon as my extensions are out of my hair. I have only tried Eve by Eves Mattifying HD Loose Powder a few times but so far I am liking it. Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat is probably something that I won’t use because I never wear pink on my nails and I am too lazy to put on an extra gel coat.

The Estée Edit Pink Peony Overnight Water Pack was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE out of all the items in this box and I actually ended up buying the full sized products from Sephora to use once my little sample is gone! Its pricy but SO worth it if you have dry skin. You also need to use an extremely small amount of product. Do you subscribe to Glossybox? If so, what was the best product you have ever received?

My New Favorite Budget Mascara – Maybelline The Colossal Big Shot Mascara

I have been obsessed with my current favorite mascaras from Elizabeth Arden and Giorgio Armani Beauty for the past few months. With that being said I haven’t turned to any other mascaras at all. Especially not the drugstore ones in a while. Maybelline’s new Colossal Big Shot Mascara came as a huge surprise to me once I finally tried it out! It has become one of my favorite mascaras, and my number 1 drugstore mascara.

Personally I saw instant volume with just one single coat. The mascara doesn’t leave clumps or spider looking lashes even after several coats. The bristles are wavy which helps distributing product evenly and adding volume. I have tried a lot of mascaras and honestly not many are to my liking. I want them to be simple to use. I don’t want to layer it up and I want nice length and volume that doesn’t look thick. I would definitely recommend for anyone to look up this mascara as it is only $8.99. ULTA has a buy one get one 50% on selected Maybelline products right now.

New from Marc Jacobs Beauty

These past couple weeks have been crazy package wise. Companies are releasing a ton of new products for 2017. They have holiday specials and the holiday gifting are unreal. I haven’t even opened up all the packages Ive gotten in the past week because I have been so busy with work. the holiday times are the hardest and most time consuming. If you follow me on Instagram you have probably also noticed that I haven’t post there for a week now. I just needed some time off before the holidays to cope with everything else going on.

Some of the things that I did open and actually have tried are these new products from Marc Jacobs Beauty. The PR team at Marc Jacobs is amazing and they always send me the best packages! Do take note that all products mentioned in this post has been gifted to me. I got one of their holiday sets which was the Up All Night Five-Piece Petites Le Marc Lip Crème Collection* (Now on sale). They also sent me all the shades of their new Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème*.

The holiday set is super cute. You get this really nice metallic hard cover bag. Inside the bag there are 5 mini sized lipsticks of Marc Jacobs Beauty’s best selling lipstick shades. You get a nude. A bright red. A dark red. A hot pink and a dark purple shade. The mini sizes are perfect to bring for a night out since they won’t take up a lot of space. And, you can also use the fun clutch for a night out to add some color to your look. I love all of the shades, but the ones I would use the least would be the red ones. Im a true sucker for nudes and a nice dark lip.

The Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème* is just so, so, so amazing that I can’t even deal with it! I do not have any hesitations on saying that YOU need at least one of these shades right now. So far Marc Jacobs have only released the Lip Creme in 6 different shades. They are all on the nude and pinkish side which will be perfect for the romantic spring that is upon us. These shades are all right up my alley and I love that I have all of them! First of all, the formula is beyond something I have seen before. Its creamy and rich. But it isn’t so rich that it becomes patchy. Its consistent through the different shades and gives an amazing coverage with just one swipe. If you don’t believe me, go to the nearest Sephora right now and try it out!

Although I clearly wasn’t very new with my swatches I was so amazed that I needed to share them with you! From left to right; Yours to try. Fawn over me. Truth or bare. Shush blush. Slow Burn. And lastly Hot cocoa. I have included these products and direct links to them down below. Together with some of my other favorite lip products. Which of these shades is your favorite, from looking at the swatches?

Happy and Healthy Hair with Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal

This post was sponsored by Pantene. All thoughts, opinions, and results are my own.

Having healthy hair goes right along with keeping my skin glowing and clean. But, to be honest, I have not been treating my hair all too well recently. With working long days (12 hours or more) and stressing a lot, I have not had time to worry about my hair. You know stress goes straight to your hair. I have had quite some damage! It was time for me to chop off all my hair and start treating my hair right again! So, I decided to remove all my split-ends and damaged hair. I began using the PANTENE PRO-V DAILY MOISTURE RENEWAL COLLECTION to make sure my hair stay healthy. Adding moisture helps hair during the dry and cold winter, too.

Going back to the stress thing. If you are stressed a lot like me, it will show on the outside. My hair has been a horrible mess plus my skin is breaking out in places I have NEVER ever had breakouts before! Lately work has been very busy and takes up most of my time. But, we need to remember to treat ourselves too. Start with the small things like updating your routine.

Immediately after using the PANTENE PRO-V DAILY MOISTURE RENEWAL Collection I noticed an improvement of my hair. Its lighter, frizz free, silky soft and smells amazing even after several days of not washing it. I only wash my hair about every four days or so – So it does go through quite a lot! It is absolutely an individual decision on how often one washes their hair but I have found this to work the best.

I rarely use any heating tools, that includes a blow dryer. I always let my hair air dry. Also a personal decision but I try to avoid any heat tools where they are not absolutely needed. I do not want to strip my hair faster than necessary because it is very fine. I got my moms Asian hair strength but my dads Scandinavian fine hair. At some times it makes it a little bit tricky to find the right products, especially for styling as I need and want to add some volume without causing breakage and drying out my hair.

I chose to use the Daily Moisture Renewal Collection mostly because of the Winter season. My hair and skin tend to get really dry during colder weather. There are several other collections available from PANTENE that target a variety of needs and concerns. Whether you have damaged hair, colored hair, volume-less hair, curly hair or simply just need to try another hair care product because your current isn’t working as well, Pantene has it. My favorite product in the collection is the Pantene Moisture Renewal 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner as it works quickly and I don’t have to worry about spending a lot of time conditioning my hair. It’s the perfect deep-conditioning treatment and I don’t have to do any extra work with their proprietary Pro-Vitamin formula that helps to control hair’s moisture levels and prevent damage for a soft, smooth, moisturized feel

Although this post is sponsored by Pantene, I will not say something that I don’t really think. The new PANTENE PRO-V DAILY MOISTURE RENEWAL COLLECTION has been really great for my hair and I will continue to use it until I find something in par, or better for my hair! Pantene is available to purchase on Amazon and if you’re like me and love Amazon Prime. Sometimes I am too lazy to head to the local store! Amazon also has the best prices.
